Job Summary:

The Systems Analyst is accountable for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all systems related to servers, storage, database, and end-user devices. The duties of a Systems Analyst can include database administration, software installation, user administration, software development, and configuration. This individual may also provide technical support to employees and train non-technical workers on the business's information systems. In addition, this role may assist in designing systems and assessing the effectiveness of technology resources already in use or new systems implemented. Additionally, they will determine the practicality of changes and modifications of systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and resolve technical problems for established IT systems.
  • Plan, test, recommend and implement server, storage, and workstation hardware
  • Serve as a technical specialist in System problems and emergencies.
  • Install, configure, and maintain system-related components
  • Maintains Systems, Hardware, and End-user documentation.
  • Conduct technical research on system and software upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, the time required, and compatibility with the current system.
  • Work with vendors to resolve complex system problems.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning the network's information processed, stored, or accessed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested by supervisors.
  • Document system problems and resolutions for future reference.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist personnel from other departments with any related technical matters, if required.
  • Oversee the installation of hardware and software.
  • Establish and coordinate MWA IT policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Support helpdesk operations, document operational procedures, and monitor hardware inventory.
  • Helps to monitor all server backups daily for completion and accuracy.
  • This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve technical issues quickly and accurately to maintain an established service level of our core technologies.
  • Establish network user ids following the established security protocols for end-users, including email; this will include additional access control to various enterprise applications.
  • Develop and maintain system alerts related to performance or failure issues with the technology infrastructure.
  • Assess and recommend appropriate technologies to solve business opportunities.
  • Create technical documents for staff and management when completing procedures or projects.
  • Maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to supported technology services
  • Manage the physical aspect of our Server environment, including hardware and cabling.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

Education, Certifications, and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible related experience in the information technology field
  • 3+ years prior experience in administrating and technical problem resolution of enterprise server environments.
  • Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or related are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on technical experience with:
    1. Windows Server Current and previous OS
    2. MS SQL Server
    3. Virtual Machines (VMware)
    4. Microsoft IIS
  • Knowledge of a variety of software programs essential to MWA functions, including the MS Office suite of office productivity programs
  • Clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of:
    1. Application migration strategy and plans.
    2. Application resource planning at both business and technical levels.
    3. Server and storage product evaluation, selection, acquisition, and deployment process.
    4. Server security models and methods.
    5. Hardware, software, operating systems, and networking protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of servers and local and wide-area networking.
  • Ability to:
    1. Develop and write systems and applications documentation and guides for end-users.
    2. Develop systems solutions for operational problems.
    3. Gather information quickly and accurately diagnose problems.
    4. Operate network test equipment and microcomputers
    5. Analyze data information.
    6. Maintain confidentiality.
