Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has teamed with a globally recognized higher education client who is searching for a qualified and motivated Director of Strategic Research Administration. As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of research administration at our clients institution. You will lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies to optimize our research operations, empower our research administrators, and drive institutional excellence. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure timely and compliant execution of sponsored projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Data-Driven Strategy, design and execute data-driven strategies to enhance benchmarking, resource allocation, and operational efficiency within our research administration ecosystem.
  • Lead initiatives to cultivate a robust pipeline of research administration talent aligned with our university's evolving research landscape.
  • Technological Innovation, drive the adoption and optimization of cutting-edge technologies to streamline administrative processes and improve the quality of research support.
  • Collaborative Leadership, fostering strong partnerships with campus stakeholders to advance professional development opportunities, recognition programs, and innovative practices for research administrators.
  • Oversee the effective management, development, and stewardship of staffing and budgetary resources allocated to strategic initiatives and development programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in research administration, ideally and most recently in academia
  • Proven track record of strategic planning and leadership in a complex research environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging data analytics, business intelligence, and strategic resource allocation to optimize research administration
  • Proven ability to manage diverse teams, prioritize initiatives, and execute plans effectively
  • Strong understanding of the broader research administration landscape, including compliance requirements and best practices
