Responsibilities
- Researches, analyzes, develops, designs, models, and tests communications systems and equipment, including but not limited to networks, data links, digital radio, battle management and command and control systems, wide and local area networks, point-to-point systems, secure systems, signal coding and modulation schema
- Conducts studies on communications systems and equipment, such as present and projected volume of communications, effectiveness and adequacy of system, and estimated equipment costs
- Performs engineering studies to obtain data on new equipment and systems developments in the communications field and adaptability of equipment to existing systems
- Performs work under minimal supervision
- Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
- Develops and maintains training materials and plans
- Recommends technical solutions through the IT Change Control Board (CCB) at DoS
- Assess, recommends, and supports secure communications upgrades and technology refresh for approximately 300+ end-user devices shared by over 600+ users, as needed
- Other duties assigned by Program Manager
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
- 5-7 years' experience in a customer support role
- 3 years' experience developing/maintaining training materials
- 3 years' experience in each of the following areas
- Experience with SVOIP provisioning
- Excellent knowledge of VTC setup, scheduling, and management
- 3 - 5 years of Active Directory account creation and maintenance
- Excellent communications skills in person, verbally, and writing
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to professionally interface with team members and civilians at all levels of the organization
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Desired Qualifications:
- Comptia A+ certification preferred
