Job Description

As the SVP Business Development at PrimeVigilance, you will be at the forefront of driving commercial strategy and business development initiatives to expand our market presence and drive revenue growth. Reporting directly to the President of PrimeVigilance, you will lead a dynamic gloabl team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve ambitious business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth and market penetration in alignment with the company's vision and objectives. This includes market segmentation, pricing strategies, and product positioning.
  • Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth through innovative sales and marketing initiatives (incl. top of funnel lead generation), identifying new business and customer opportunities across therapeutic areas/study types/services, cultivate strategic partnerships, and expand client base globally
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including pharmaceutical companies, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations to enhance market presence and drive business growth. Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and priorities to deliver tailored solutions and ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Sales Operations: continue to develop, upskill and implement process efficiencies within the sales operations function in line with commercial strategy and scale revenues
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities, informing strategic decision-making and product/service development initiatives.
  • Sales and Marketing: In collaboration with Global Marketing oversee lead generation, pipeline management, and promotional activities, driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing global commercial team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence to achieve sales targets and business objectives. Develop and implement appropriate recurring and hiring, onboarding, productivity improvement / performance management and commission strategies for the BD, Inside Sales and Sales Operations teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments including marketing, operations, regulatory affairs, quality assurance and finance to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives and alignment with overall business goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards related to pharmacovigilance and drug safety, ensuring compliance in all commercial activities.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage commercial reporting, budgets, forecast revenue targets, and track key performance metrics and subsequently optimize resource allocation and maximize profitability accordingly
Qualifications

Key Experience

To be successful and effective across mentioned key responsibilities, it is expected candidates will have the following experience

  • Extensive experience in the pharmacovigilance or related pharmaceutical / biotechnology industries.
  • In-depth understanding of pharmacovigilance processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Commercial strategy: proven track record in developing and implementing new commercial strategy to achieve revenues and growth aspirations comparable with PV, experience in developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Leadership: Extensive leadership experience managing and motivating sales teams, inspiring team/performance management and delivering growth. Experience leading a global sales team.
  • Team scaling and deliver transformation: managing hiring, training, developing sales and operations to rapidly achieve goals. Ability to develop and mentor junior sales staff, fostering a high-performance sales culture
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmacovigilance software, services, and solutions. Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Global Experience: Experience working in a global or multinational environment with an understanding of different market dynamics. Ability to navigate and manage sales efforts across diverse regions and cultures.
  • Client Relationship Management: Excellent relationship-building skills with key clients, stakeholders, and partners. Ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including C-level executives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to make informed decisions.
