Position Overview:

Aria is the largest project at the client site, involving approximately 20 teams and 300 personnel. The client seeks someone capable of managing projects of this scale, with extensive experience in project scheduling tools preferably MS Project.

They require an expert who can fully leverage the capabilities of MS Project, ideally an SME with significant experience implementing it across multiple large-scale projects involving approximately 20 teams and 300 personnel.

This individual should also be able to train and mentor colleagues and junior team members on MS Project.

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules across various phases of project execution. The role requires a strong understanding of project management principles, time management, and resource allocation. The Scheduler will work closely with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery, adherence to deadlines, and efficient utilization of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Development:
    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, from inception to completion, ensuring all tasks, milestones, and deadlines are accurately captured.
    • Collaborate with project managers and team members to understand project scope, objectives, and timelines, and convert these into clear and achievable schedules.
  • Monitoring and Tracking:
    • Monitor the progress of project activities and update schedules regularly to reflect actual performance, delays, or changes.
    • Identify and report schedule deviations, risks, and potential delays to project management teams in a timely manner.
    • Analyze the impact of schedule changes on project deliverables and timelines, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Resource Management:
    • Coordinate with resource managers to allocate resources effectively and ensure that the project schedule reflects realistic resource availability and capacity.
    • Help in resource leveling and resolving conflicts in resource allocation.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and deliver regular schedule progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators, project milestones, and potential risks.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, timelines, and changes.
  • Risk and Issue Management:
    • Identify potential schedule-related risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation strategies.
    • Assist project managers in resolving issues that may affect the project timeline, helping to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to gather schedule inputs and ensure that all parties are aligned on project timelines and objectives.
    • Support project teams by providing scheduling expertise and guidance, and facilitating effective communication around schedule changes and updates.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively suggest improvements to project scheduling processes and tools.
    • Ensure that best practices in project scheduling are applied consistently across all projects.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, resource management, and project life cycle.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with stakeholders at various levels.
