Manager II, Data Analytics
We're seeking a Manager II, Data Analytics to lead the development of enterprise-wide data solutions that transform how we deliver cancer care. In this key role, you'll collaborate closely with clinicians, researchers, and senior leadership to design, implement, and optimize data analytics and visualizations that provide actionable insights across MSK. As a leader, you will:
- Build and inspire a high-performing analytics team, working together to develop cutting-edge solutions that elevate MSK's mission.
- Deliver thought leadership and a strategic vision for MSK's data initiatives.
- This is a highly visible role, offering you the opportunity to influence key decisions, contribute to groundbreaking cancer care.
Position Overview:
- Leads, builds, and motivates a team of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence analysts to ensure success on a wide range of projects.
- Acts as advisor to data and analytics developers to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
- Recommends changes to data policies and establishes procedures that impact the data and analytics community.
- Leads implementation of new data and analytics solutions, and enhancements and upgrades to ensure smooth migrations from development to production environments.
- Manages workload and resource allocation across all data and analytics projects.
- Develops and administers project schedules and performance requirements and is accountable for the team's performance.
- Manages the coordination of the activities of the team with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
Key Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years leading technical teams to deliver innovative solutions. Prior experience in healthcare analytics is highly desirable.
- Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
- Resilient, willing to take action, and able to manage complexity.
- Strong Analytical and Visualization skills with hands-on experience with BI tools Tableau
- Solid understanding of SQL and basic familiarity with popular Python and R languages
- Epic Cogito, Caboodle, and Clarity as well as Clinical Data Model certifications a plus
Core Skills:
- Experience working with multiple departments (IT, clinical, research, etc.) to align data strategies with business needs.
- Strong organizational skills to manage complex analytics projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within deadlines.
- Ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to solve complex business challenges.
- Ability to evaluate processes and make improvements to enhance data quality, efficiency, and value.
- Experience engaging with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to influence decision-making and strategy.
Additional Information:
- This role is based at MSK's 633 Third Avenue location.
- Schedule: Full Time, Hybrid onsite 3 times a month
- Reporting to the Associate Director, Analytics
