As a Process Engineer for Skechers, you will play an integral role in improving processes that drive operational excellence for Skechers Distribution, both domestically and globally. In this role you will review current production schedules and processes to find potential improvements and identify procedures or tools to improve productivity, while enforcing quality control to reduce waste. You will be responsible for documenting and implementing new process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents. You will also be responsible for designing and developing production layouts for the company’s warehouse to increase productivity and quality standards.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze current processing practices and areas to foster continuous improvement and optimize production process efficiency.
  • Build business cases for continuous improvement initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data that supports the proposed change.
  • Develop and maintain cost control systems. Propose and institute cost reduction for ongoing and evolving projects.
  • Maintain engineered labor standards by collecting time studies, completing data analysis, proposing changes, and overseeing the roll out.
  • Take ideas from concept to implementation while effectively communicating with all key stakeholders.
  • Adhere to best practices for solving technical problems, such as step-by-step problem-solving methods, root cause analysis, and other techniques as appropriate.
  • Provide support on all new projects or developing areas.
  • Understand each DC’s process flows, both manual and automated, at a detailed level to facilitate troubleshooting, articulate issues, and provide training.
  • Support in evaluating tasks and responsibilities to effectively train staff on new practices.
  • Assist with documentation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, including participating in DC start-ups.
  • Create, complete and update AutoCAD production layouts in respect to high automation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of Distribution systems - WMS, LMS and Warehouse Execution Systems (such as Blue Yonder, TZA, Manhattan, etc.)
  • Basic AutoCAD
  • Experience with Predetermined Motion Time Systems (MOST or MTM)
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking with the ability to meet concurrent project timelines.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with intermediate MS Excel skills, MS Access, and Visio.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Two or more years, combined, of relevant engineering experience specific to distribution planning models (square footage, labor, staffing, etc.) and awareness of material handling technology applications is highly preferred.

Pay Range $105,000 - $130,000
