Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead and coordinate agile processes within our data teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies, data management, and a proven track record of delivering data-driven projects. You will work closely with product owners, data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth sprint execution and project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a servant leader and Scrum Master for data teams, facilitating all agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives).
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Foster a collaborative and transparent working environment by removing roadblocks and facilitating communication between teams.
- Guide the team in self-organization, ensuring adherence to agile principles and the scrum framework.
- Track and communicate team progress, sprint metrics, and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Work with the product owner to ensure that the product backlog is properly maintained, prioritized, and up to date.
- Continuously improve team performance through agile best practices and process enhancements.
- Lead efforts to manage risks, dependencies, and any obstacles that could impact team productivity.
- Champion data-driven decisions and promote best practices in data management, governance, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, preferably within data or software engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, with a proven ability to apply these in a data environment.
- Solid understanding of data management, data analytics, and data engineering concepts.
- Experience working in a cloud-based data ecosystem (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data pipelines, data modeling, and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data tools and platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Databricks, or other data technologies.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or other agile project management tools
