The School of Interdisciplinary Studies seeks a part-time lecturer for the Fall 2024 semester as a University Field Supervisor (UFS). University Field Supervisors are required to supervise, mentor and interact with pre-service teacher candidates, campus principals, and their cooperating/host/mentor teachers as prescribed by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Through observation, assessment and evaluation of pre-service candidates, field supervisors are responsible for providing high-quality feedback to candidates that result in actionable improvement of their practice. Additionally UFS are expected to interact and collaborate with TDC faculty and staff as needed to execute their responsibilities in a timely manner. They are also required to attend all UFS meetings, participate in the design and delivery of candidate seminars, and meet regularly with their pre-service candidate cohorts. UFS are responsible for completing all TEA and TDC documentation required for pre-service candidates.
Minimum Education And Experience
An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline/topic and a record of productivity and professional achievement.
Preferred Education And Experience
A Master's degree in Education or closely related field. Texas certified elementary (EC-6), secondary (4-8 and/or 7-12) content field classroom teacher and/or Texas principal certification, and at least five years teaching experience with children EC-6, 4-8 and/or 7-12.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Prepare and teach undergraduate classes and/or Labs;
Maintain contact with student population in the classroom and via electronic learning platforms (eLearning);
Contribute assessment information and data as requested through the administration and the Assessment Team;
Participate in course evaluation surveys.
