About You
We re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Documentation Control Engineer. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will oversee Doc Control utilizing PDM in support of NPI and sustaining engineering activities by providing effective revision control and administration of engineering documentation for electromechanical products, developing processes and influencing revision control decisions, maintaining accurate document configuration, and ensuring engineering document access to user base.
In addition, you will:
- Streamline engineering documentation release and change management workflowsby implementing industry-leading best practices, reducing approval cycle times, and improving the accuracy of documentation revision control
- Champion engineering support activitiesby serving as the primary point of contact for sustaining engineering requests, ensuring swift engagement of technical resources, and improving product support
- Facilitates cross-functional documentation availabilityby collaborating with key departments such as Product Management, Quality Assurance, operations, and manufacturing to ensure documentation availability and accuracy, driving cohesive communication and collaboration
- Ensure data accuracy and integrityby overseeing the precise transfer of engineering data to the manufacturing ERP system, focusing on master data governance to prevent errors and enable seamless production execution
- Drive team performance and engineering excellenceby leveraging advanced system administration tools and processes, mentoring user base, and leading initiatives that promote easy access to key documentation and simplistic yet accurate change control
- Enhance project management support methodologies and reportingby maintaining and refining processes, tools, and advanced metrics that provide actionable insights, and alignment with NPI and engineering support priorities.
- Lead the continuous improvement of CAD/PDM system standards, processes, and toolsby driving innovative PDM system usage, enabling high operational efficiency, and the correct and latest version PDM systems are utilized.
Requirements
You should have:
- BS in engineering or information technologies; or equivalency
- 5+ years experience in engineering document control, MCAD and ECAD parts libraries, bill of materials, product structure, and CAD master model, assembly creation and management
- Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, PDM/PLM systems and ERP systems is required Direct experience with SolidWorks EPDM Vault, SolidWorks Mechanical, SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, OrCAD, and JD Edwards E1 advantageous
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required for technical and nontechnical audiences
- Must be able to think strategically, act in the best interest of team goals, and have a high energy drive for result-oriented execution

Salary Range: $71,000-$96,000
Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
