Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Civil Structural Geotechnical Engineer to join our construction management team. This position will be involved in different aspects of a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college related to architecture or construction engineering or architecture, as well as at least 5 years of experience with geotechnical and structural codes and systems in a construction setting.

This position will be full-time, On-site in Jersey City, New Jersey

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reviewing construction documents, calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards.
  • Developing project scope of work and structural design, for various structural types, including bridges, rails, and transit facilities
  • Deliver documents to various city agencies for review and approval.
  • Research existing building status from City records at various agencies.
  • Manage electronic TAA submissions, analyzing and reviewing designs, documents, and geotechnical structural calculations as needed.
  • Communicate with facilities to process TAA and design audit projects.
  • Assure project compliance with building codes and standards.
  • Attend meetings with architects and engineers to review comments and resolve issues as necessary.
  • Perform related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college related to architecture or construction engineering or architecture
  • At least 5 years of experience with geotechnical and structural codes and systems in a construction setting.
  • Experience acting as an intermediary between tenants & facilities and in-house application reviewers to ensure smooth workflow
  • Proper understanding of civil, structural, and geotechnical design principles relating to the construction of transportation facilities.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Professional Engineer s license in State of New York and/or New Jersey.
