As Senior Manager of Flight Operations, you will develop and execute communications strategies and tactics that support flying operations at Delta. Reporting to the General Manager of Flight Operations Communications, you will lead day-to-day communications processes to provide pilots with critical information they need to safely and reliably serve Delta customers. You will work closely with the Flight Operations leadership team and stakeholders to craft and deliver messaging for senior leaders to promote key operations and organizational initiatives. As part of the Global Communications team, you will partner with communications counterparts to ensure consistency of messaging across Delta.

  • Develop and execute communications strategies and tactics that support flying operations at Delta
  • Lead day-to-day communications processes to provide pilots with information about corporate programs and announcements, Flight Ops policy and procedures, and other critical operations and safety updates they need to safely and reliably serve Delta customers
  • Support Flight Operations leaders with key messaging in the form of executive memos, remarks and talking points for employee events and meetings
  • Coordinate across the broader Global Communications team and with our business partners to support strong and consistent delivery of divisional and enterprise initiatives. Ensure alignment across teams for both day-to-day priorities and large corporate initiatives
  • Support internal issues management/crisis communications for the Flight Operations division as part of the Global Communications coordinated response

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Corporate Communications, Employee Relations, Public Relations and/or Marketing Communications, including day-to-day relationships with Senior Executives
  • Ability to move seamlessly between big strategic thinking and tactical execution and juggle competing priorities
  • Ability to act as strategic counsel to and foster constructive relationships with individuals at all levels
  • Diplomacy, positivity, keen problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to receive and deliver constructive criticism
  • Strategic, solutions-oriented approach and ease working collaboratively across teams
  • Strong team orientation and relationship-building skills; predisposition to seek and integrate diverse viewpoints
  • Honesty, integrity, respectfulness, perseverance, and servant leadership – and the ability to foster these core Delta values and bring out the best in team members
  • Passion for measurement and analysis to drive results and prioritize work

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field preferred
  • Crisis communications or issues management experience
