We re rapidly expanding and looking for an insurance underwriting assistant to help move insurance policy decisions forward. In this position, you ll collect and enter accurate information for new, existing, and prospective clients that serves as the foundation for decisions made by your insurance underwriter counterparts. As you support their efforts, you will grow and hone your own communications, data entry, and reporting skills; advancing to future opportunities. $35,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Document and communicate policy approvals or rejections to the underwriting team, insurance agents, supervisors, and clients in a timely manner
  • Develop reports using accurate data and analytics that will be leveraged for policy decisions such as coverage determinations and policy parameters
  • Serve as the liaison for underwriters and customers in order to track, manage, and prioritize insurance applications and other services
  • Communicate with applicants in person and via phone and email to collect current and accurate insurance information to use in the development of risk assessment profiles
  • Support the development of accurate policy recommendations for existing and prospective customers by verifying that all records in underwriting software programs are accurate and complete
  • Review both new and renewal policies for accuracy
  • Review changes to client policies for accuracy
Qualifications:
  • Keen attention to detail necessary to collect and maintain insurance customer information
  • Must have a bachelor s degree in mathematics, statistics, business administration, or other related field
  • Designation as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) preferred but not required
  • Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Working as an administrative assistant or similar, or a role in the insurance industry is a plus
