SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the direction of the Application Production Support Manager, provide responsibilities for the day-to-day 24x7 IT services at UCLA West Valley Medical Center, which may require a technician to travel to onsite to perform the job duties. The support on technologies including endpoint devices software and hardware install. Application troubleshooting skill on the endpoint device and server side is required. Able to coordinate with Clinical Engineering (aka BioMed) staffs for any devices related issues.
Duties and Tasks
Operational Support; Problem Resolution; HW/SW Installation
- Respond in a timely manner to high or urgent priority service requests, incidents, or outages to meet departmental SLA s.
- Ensure to make changes in the IT environment adhere to the UCLA Health IT Change Management process.
- Participate in implementing new technology at UCLA Health IT, including staff preparation and training change management and development of new UCLA Health IT standards.
- Troubleshoot & identify hardware and software problems for networked components, workstations. Correct problems or arrange and oversee correction of problems with in-house resources or outside vendors.
- Assist in monitoring, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and optimizing application components as necessary to resolve problems and improve quality and performance.
- Assist and execute disaster recovery procedures as required.
- Coordinate on-site device integration application hardware/software installations
- Install, test, and evaluate hardware and software as necessary.
- Make certain Service Requests, Catalog Tasks, and Incidents are opened, updated, and resolved based on our department OLA.
- Make certain that UCLA Health IT Configuration Items in Service-Now Configuration Module Database are updated and accurate.
- Check open tickets to ensure problems are being addressed, updated, and resolved in a timely fashion.
- Be a champion for UCLA Health IT and serve as a role model to encourage others to embrace operational changes associated with UCLA Health IT initiatives
- Escalate issues to your manager as defined by the SLA and as the situation requires.
- Lead or participate in IT projects and UCLA Health IT initiatives during work hours and off-hour as needed
- Participate in UCLA Health IT e-waste tasks
- Work with UCLA departments and vendors maintain IT equipment and to resolve IT issues
Customer Service
- Provide a high level of customer satisfaction
- Provide concierge-type service (e.g. Desktop) as needed
- Provide hands-on training to clients and departments for applications and endpoint devices
- Interact with customers in a courteous, respectful manner.
- Respond to customer requests and needs in a timely fashion.
- Provide technical expertise advising customers on solutions to their technical issues and/or challenges.
- Communicate technical information to customers in a manner that is easy for the customer to understand.
- Identify communications gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions
