Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Project Manager provide operational leadership to all aspects of the business unit, have profit & loss responsibility, and make key decisions and recommendations related to safety, profitability, business development, operations, resource management, recruiting, growth, teamwork, and culture for the operations.

- Promote and enforce a safety-first culture
- Develop strategies to enter new markets
- Train & work with Superintendent and General Foreman to ensure all necessary tasks are accomplished
- Manage multiple projects including budgeting, estimating (when necessary) and scheduling
- Review and understand the scope and contractual provisions of the contract
- Work with the field operations team to track construction schedule and cost budget
- Plan and manage the purchasing of materials and purchasing/rental of equipment
- Ensure appropriate procedures and practices are being consistently executed in the field
- Identify and recommending value engineering and other value-creating ideas to maximize the overall value of the project
- Monitor project performance with respect to quality versus specifications, progress versus schedule, and cost versus budget
- Work with the General Foreman to make appropriate schedule and/or resource changes to ensure quality, schedule, and budget attainment
- Lead weekly progress update meetings
- Complete monthly forecast-to-complete process to ensure ongoing tracking and control of project
- Track progress of work/earned-value and perform monthly billing to manage project cash flow
- Manage scope of work identifying, pricing, preparing, submitting, and ensuring approval of change orders
- Identify project risks, developing plans to mitigate risk, and monitoring ongoing potential risks
- Seek out opportunities for team members to grow and advance their careers
- Plan for and ensure customer acceptance of work is received
- Source and understand rates and terms of all applicable Union Agreements
- Complete a labor rate workup to submit pricing at customer’s request
- Perform timely and complete close-out of project ensuring all loose ends are completed, both externally and internally
- Interface with both new and existing customers
- Adept at multi-tasking in fast paced environment, able to plan, prioritize, and organize individual and group activities and processes
- Availability to the team for emergency work and as situations arise
- Able to work independently and across multiple teams and levels within and outside of the organization and also take initiative on projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to develop formulated Excel spreadsheets
- 5+ years’ experience in electrical utility overhead construction and maintenance work
