Job Description

Job Description
Salary:

Sick of commuting? Tired of hybrid jobs that are really in office jobs in disguise? If you re discovering that you re more productive at home than in an office, and want to make that arrangement permanent, we may have the position you re after.

At CarriersEdge, we re focused on producing great quality products and happy customers. We don t care about being the coolest company in town, having the most amazing office perks, or the hippest staff. If you re interested in those things, you ll hate us.

On the other hand, if you re not looking for a social group and just want to do great work, then you may be exactly what we re looking for. We don t care where you work and we won t be looking over your shoulder micromanaging you. You ll have minimal meetings disrupting your week, and plenty of time to focus on doing the best job possible. We re growing steadily, but not so quickly that things are chaotic.

As part of that growth, we ve got an opening for a Director of Marketing.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in the skills outlined below, is a self-learner with a great work ethic, and has a keen interest in building strong brands through the use of both traditional and modern marketing tools.

This isn t a large corporation with layers of bureaucracy and committees for every decision. It s also not an agency where you ll get crushed by client demands and deadlines. Our business is established and stable, but still small enough that we can move quickly. If you fit the profile below, send your rsum and a link to your portfolio and let s talk.

About You

  • A meticulous organizer, you re comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, and ensuring all marketing initiatives align with broader business objectives.
  • While you may have spent time in the agency world, you have equally strong experience directly leading in-house marketing teams.
  • You may be creative at heart, but you know that execution is just as important as the idea, and you re keenly focused on delivering excellence consistently and reliably. Sloppy, lazy work drives you insane.
  • You recognize the importance of data in refining the effectiveness of marketing programs, but that instinct counts as well and can t be ignored.
  • You keep your ear to the ground for new ideas, but you don t need to always be on the bleeding edge. One fad behind is just fine.
  • You re equally comfortable working behind the scenes or in the public eye, recognizing that while much marketing work is public, it only succeeds when the preparation is thorough and detailed.
  • You ve been doing this long enough that you ve found the pitfalls and learned what NOT to do.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage existing websites, content marketing, ad campaigns, and events, and maintain the marketing calendar to ensure all activities align with larger objectives.
  • Oversee the production of blogs, webinars, podcasts, press releases, case studies, e-books, collateral, and other department deliverables, ensuring all output meets company standards and follows established guidelines.
  • Work with an external PR agency to maximize content placement and effectiveness.
  • Plan, attend and participate in industry events on behalf of the company.
  • Speak publicly on behalf of the company, through public presentations, webinars, podcasts, radio, and other opportunities as appropriate.
  • Conduct and/or oversee ongoing market research activities, including interviews, data analysis, and production of reports.
  • Identify and lead the execution of joint marketing efforts with industry partners.
  • Identify opportunities to expand current efforts and manage related projects.
  • Maintain and build industry connections and expertise through ongoing research and relationship development.
  • Oversee the department marketing budget.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a diverse marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Our Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in progressively senior marketing roles, preferably in SaaS or B2B.
  • 5+ years of experience successfully leading marketing teams and departments.
  • Proven experience managing a full range of marketing activities, from blogs to trade shows to advertising to social media and beyond, and consistently producing high-performing, best-in-class marketing content.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple brands concurrently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
  • Experience defining metrics for marketing programs and measuring results.
  • Experience supporting direct sales activities, resellers, and alliance partners.
  • Comfort managing and growing a remote team.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
  • French would be an asset.
  • Must reside in Canada.

Additional notes:

  • This is a remote position, suitable for individuals with disabilities
  • Principals only, no recruiters

Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
