This Position is part of a highly qualified team supporting Air National Guard Operations. Works closely with the program team supporting mission objectives; excellent understanding of Operating Systems internals at the server and desktop levels; familiarity with virtualization platforms; in-depth experience areas such as file systems, memory and CPU management, drivers; knowledge of computer hardware architectures.
Members of this Service Area answer phone calls to troubleshoot, configure, document, coordinate with customers, and create and resolve ITIL incidents following established guidelines and directives. Manage, ITIL incidents assigned to the Operations Support Service Area and includes, but is not limited to, incidents relating to workstations, servers, server farm management, datawall, and help desk. Verify and make required changes for devices managed by Operations Support according to quarterly STIG updates from DISA.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide SA for systems, servers, workstations, peripherals, communications devices and software are on-line and supported.
- Have a thorough understanding of customer's mission needs and be knowledgeable of hardware and software capabilities and limitations supporting that functional system.
- Ensure servers, workstations, peripherals, communications devices and operating system/application software are properly configured for network operation, are on-line and are available to customers.
- Perform routine system maintenance.
- Implement software patches and security fixes as required by the Air Force Network Operation and Security Center (AFNOSC) or program management office.
- Test and validate the proper operation and configuration with appropriate patches and fixes, as required above, prior to restoring any device to the network.
- Provide server farm and help desk support to include, but not limited to, DHCP, Office and other software, printing, basic virtual environment management, internet access, telephony, call management system, user permissions, shared drives, ethernet and fiber cabling, and racking equipment.
- Provide basic Data Wall support such as building user accounts, setting up displays, and train personnel.
- Verify and make required changes to be in compliance with DISA STIGs.
- Ensure physical security of DoD Information Network (DoDIN) components.
- Monitor reports, heads-up messages and system advisory notices.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is preferred
Mandatory Requirements:
- 3 years relevant systems administration experience
- Minimum 8570 IAT II Security+ CE
- Secret Clearance (FINAL)
- Microsoft 365 (M365) Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate Certification or higher
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
