Job Description
The Systems Engineer / Data Analyst is responsible for the efficient use of the Database, SSIS packages, queries, stored procedure development, and maintenance in the SQL Server Environment.
The Systems Engineer will have software QA engineer duties to include designing and implementing tests, debugging, defining corrective actions, reviewing system requirements, and tracking QA metrics. This Systems Engineer role ensures the stable operation of the in-house Database application, Jobs, updates, and application interaction. Working in a team-based Microsoft environment, the person will be responsible for applying and supporting technical solutions to business problems and needs as identified by our customers.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track trending of the system
- Organize requests from OTA and ensure we resolve issues in a timely fashion.
- Communicating regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff
- Create queries to gather specific data for analysis.
- Support field personnel with system issues
- Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents and providing feedback.
- Perform data analysis of test results and develop a plan for corrective action for any corrective actions needed.
Preferred skills:
- Software QA work experience
- Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- SRS SQL Reporting Services.
- SSIS development
- BS degree in software/database engineering OR equivalent experience or certifications.
- 1-2 years plus of SQL database administration
- 1 year plus of SQL database development
- Database Monitoring Techniques and Software.
