SUMMARY OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITY:

This position will build, develop, and mature our business intelligence (BI) program. The position involves gathering requirements and feedback, designing scalable best practice solutions, and helping to develop the BI road map. We care about our BI user experience, therefore as a Data Analyst, you should enjoy all aspects of BI development, data connections, data analysis, data integrity, coding, user interface, user testing and BI architecture.

Essential Functions:
  • Working with business stakeholders to deeply understand the pain points, shape solutions, gather requirements, and ensure result validity.
  • Designing, coding, and testing, SQL views, tables, and data pipelines to provide scalable, extensible, reusable data assets to reporting users across the business.
  • Participating in the design, development, and analysis of data architecture and warehousing approaches.
  • Creating technical documents to document database contents, concepts, and mapping between systems and applications.
  • Exposing data for dashboarding by creating and maintaining dashboards in our reporting environment based on requirements gathering.
  • Identifying and proposing opportunities for process, tooling, or architecture improvements.
  • Supporting enterprise-wide data initiatives.
  • Being comfortable working across multiple ERP systems with the mindset of automation and cross system analytics, business approaches and data rendering.
  • Completing requested and ad-hoc BI assignments; create visualizations and reports for requested projects using BI tools and programs.
  • Identifying and defining data sources and data relationships that will require a data warehouse structure to support analysis and reporting.
  • Defining and designing database solutions and data models to stage and present BI data for use in reporting.
  • Deliver timely reporting/dashboards based on agile deployment schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TRAINING): Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferrably with a quantitative or technical focus, mathematics, statistics, calculus or other related fields of study.
Preferred Education:
  • Describe Preferred Education. This is the education the most ideal candidate would possess.
Required Experience:
  • 4+ years of business analysis, business intelligence, or data engineering experience; preferably within the cabinet and countertop industry.
  • Experience data modeling for data warehousing & reporting.
  • Experience capturing business requirements and translating into technical needs.
  • Working knowledge of ETL, ELT, date warehouse, operational data store, bulk data operations, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence platform market leaders, e.g., DOMO, Power BI, Tableau, Information Builders.
  • Ability to write and understand complex SQL queries.
Preferred Experience:
  • Understanding relational databases, business intelligence tools, forecasting and/or statistical models is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS data is a plus.
  • Experience with Boomi and other middleware applications is highly desirable.

  • Strong motivation to create customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality end-user reporting.
  • Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems creatively.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, other BI software, data modeling, ETL and data warehousing concepts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products and SQL development.
  • Knowledge of Python and other coding languages is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven strong critical thinking skills, a track record of innovative thought and analytical abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail.
Work Environment:

This position will be performed in an office environment

Physical Demands:

This position is not expected to have any physical demands beyond sitting and/or standing for long periods of time.

Travel Required:

There is little to no travel expected for this position beyond commuting to the office.
