We are looking for a highly motivated Analyst to join the Brand team at Amazon Fresh. In this role, you will be responsible for generating market, business, and consumer insights that contribute to partners across Amazon Fresh. This role will work with other analytics teams across Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market (WFM) to lead strategic and analytics support for assigned and ad hoc requests. This position will be required to provide an integrated point of view of market, business, and consumer performance, leveraging internal and external sources such as NielsenIQ. In addition, this role will support the development of business analytics and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and solve for any gaps in analytical processes and reporting.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities: Provide strategic guidance by delivering data-driven, actionable insights that contribute to leadership and key partner teams at Amazon Fresh. Act as a conduit to integrate strategic insights and generate hypotheses; a single-point-of-contact for technology team partners and data science teams; and a facilitator of insights across Amazon Fresh, WFM, and Amazon.com. Understand and activate business impact levers (promotions, price, product, customer, etc.…) along with leveraging external partner competitive landscape tools, customer behavior metrics, and data science models. Serve as an analytical point of contact for special projects, ad hoc analysis, and other initiatives.

Lead collaboration with business partners, including external partners, to identify gaps in analytical processes and reporting; then problem solve with various teams to fill gaps and influence decision making throughout the business, which often requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Effectively synthesize and communicate complex data and analyses via effective written documents and presentations.

  • Experience with working with market syndicated data (e.g. Nielsen, Numerator), shopper insights solutions, visual analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau), and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with data basics, structure, and relationships.
  • Experience with analyzing reporting and visualizing data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Project Management experience and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • SQL proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge of retail business to include all aspects of pricing, merchandising, retail operations, financial operations, profitability drivers, and reporting is a strong plus.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.

  • Effectively translate complex data and analyses to all levels within the organization – including to a c-suite audience– to generate market insights that drive action.
  • Ability to influentially present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interactions and meeting/group presentations involving senior leadership.
  • Intellectual and analytical curiosity – initiative to dig into the “why” of various results.
  • Proven ability to utilize advanced analytical methods to identify patterns, relationships, and trends across multiple data sources.
  • Synthesizes complex data from various sources to construct a narrative which can be understood by a broad audience. Passion for developing simple visualizations that lead to clear insights for various levels of stakeholder groups.
  • Experience querying data from large enterprise databases and developing new code to answer complex business questions.
  • Experience leveraging data science models to derive insights required.

The Brand Team is responsible for the strategy, creative, and governance of the Amazon Fresh Brand across North America, worldwide geographies, and touch points within the larger Amazon ecosystem. Our key function is to create tools and mechanisms that align business and marketing objectives with customer experiences and creative outputs. Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating and executing integrated marketing lead generation campaigns using tactics that include live or virtual events, webinars, email, lead nurture programs, and CRM/sales insights
  • Experience with Salesforce and Tableau

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $186,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
