Japanese Bilingual Controls Engineer

Overview:
A global industry controls/ factory automation (FA) engineering company is looking for a Controls Engineer with Japanese language skills.
The Control Engineer will develop and implement control systems and troubleshoot of automation solutions such as Vision Camera, Robot, and AGV.
The company will sponsor your work visa in the U.S. (E-visa) after OPT-STEM period. The successful candidate can develop electrical drawings and design of PLCs, HMIs, and robots programs and schematics based on customer specifications provided in Japanese.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Design and develop innovative controls systems for various automated equipment, such as robotic arms, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), vision-guided systems, and industrial machinery.
Implement and integrate controls systems into existing manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
Create detailed documentation, including system diagrams, programming code, and operating procedures, to support maintenance and troubleshooting.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to controls systems, including hardware malfunctions, software errors, and communication problems.
Write and modify PLC code to address specific requirements and optimize system performance.
Work with electrical control devices, such as sensors, actuators, and relays, to ensure proper functionality and integration.
Program robots using specialized software to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
Evaluate existing controls systems to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to increase efficiency and productivity.
Research and explore new technologies and automation techniques to stay ahead of industry trends and drive innovation.
Develop and test new control strategies to optimize system performance and meet evolving customer needs.
Actively participate in project planning and development meetings, contributing expertise and problem-solving skills.
Collaborate closely with the technical build team to ensure smooth integration of controls systems into the overall manufacturing process.
Participate in industry-led training programs to stay updated on the latest advancements in controls engineering and automation technologies.
As needed, undertake additional tasks and projects assigned by management, such as supporting system upgrades, troubleshooting equipment failures, or assisting with customer demonstrations.
Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Japanese language skills (speaking, reading, and writing)
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (no work experience required); or Associate's degree with 3+ years of hands-on experience in controls engineering.
Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, mechatronics, motion control, and vision systems.
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar software for creating electrical schematics.
In-depth understanding of electrical circuits, schematics, and programming.
Able to attend occasional travel to customer sites (up to 10-20%: domestic)
