M9 Solutions is seeking a Business Function Implementation Practitioner to work hybrid remote/on-site on a government contract for a client located in Arlington, VA. An active Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities
  • Directly support the Chief Data Officer and data teams and facilitate human-centered design processes.
  • This position is integral in ensuring smooth front office operations and applying systems thinking to address complex challenges within the Agency.
  • Reporting: Preparation and delivery of regular reports to ensure the front office remains informed and can make data-driven decisions by compiling information, analyzing data, and preparing summary reports.
  • Talking Points Preparation: Prepare for the Managing Director and other senior staff for meetings, briefings, and external engagements.
  • BCL (Briefing Checklist) Management: Briefing checklists to ensure that all necessary information is gathered and presented in advance of meetings or events.
  • Calendar Management: Manage the calendar for the Managing Director and coordinate logistics with stakeholders.
  • Meeting Support: Attend key meetings to take notes, track action items, and ensure follow-up on decisions and commitments made during these meetings.
  • Action Item Tracking: Track action items assigned to the Managing Director's staff, ensuring on-time completion and holding staff accountable for responsibilities.
  • Accountability Reporting: Assist in the preparation of accountability reports to assess performance and follow-through of Managing Director's staff, highlighting areas of success and those needing improvement.
  • Design Thinking and Facilitation:
  • Meeting Facilitation: Lead and facilitate meetings, workshops, and collaborative sessions, ensuring discussions are productive, inclusive, and aligned with the Agency's strategic goals.
  • Human-Centered Design Processes: Drive collaborative problem-solving and foster innovative thinking by applying human-centered design principles: conducting user research, developing personas, creating journey maps, and prototyping solutions to address complex challenges.
  • Systems Thinking: Apply systems thinking to understand and address the interconnections and dependencies within the Agency, ensuring solutions are sustainable and effective.
  • Graphic Facilitation: Utilize graphic facilitation techniques to visually capture and communicate ideas, discussions, and outcomes during meetings and workshops, making complex information more accessible and engaging for all participants.
  • Innovation Workshops: Design and conduct innovation workshops to encourage creative thinking and generate new ideas. Use design thinking tools and techniques to guide participants through the ideation and problem-solving process.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders at all levels to gather insights, build consensus, and ensure design solutions meet needs of the Agency and its constituents.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to work on-site in Rosslyn (Arlington), VA 2 days per week, sometimes 3.
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong skills in calendar and stakeholder management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with accountability frameworks and reporting mechanisms in a large organizational setting.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism, experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Previous experience in a special assistant or chief of staff role, especially in governmental or large organizational setting.
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives with front office operations, including reporting, communication, and accountability.
  • Skilled in meeting facilitation, human-centered design, and graphic facilitation.
  • Experience in conducting user research, developing personas, creating journey maps, and prototyping solutions.
  • Ability to apply systems thinking to understand and address complex challenges.

Full-Time Employee Compensation
  • M9 Solutions' pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, location, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

$60,000 - $180,000 USD
