Essential Criteria (Incomplete applications without these will be rejected):
- Minimum of 12 years in software development with a strong emphasis on database-driven applications.
- Over 4 years of active development work with a range of NoSQL databases (Examples: Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or equivalents).
Core Competencies:
- High proficiency in architectural design and operations of OLTP systems, particularly working with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB) and, to a lesser extent, conventional Relational DBs (e.g., Azure SQL, MS SQL Server).
- Proficient in creating efficient data processing pipelines using streaming technologies for real-time data (e.g., Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hub, AWS Kinesis).
- At least 1 year of experience directly engaging with Azure Cosmos DB development tasks.
- Minimum 2 years of significant involvement in projects using event-driven streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka or Azure Event Hub).
- Detailed understanding and application of data modeling and design principles, both for NoSQL and Relational DBs.
- Solid background working with RDBMS, especially MS SQL Server and Azure SQL, with capability to write and optimize advanced SQL queries (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL) for systems handling large volumes of transactions.
- A deep knowledge of SQL database engine mechanics to guide database design and tuning for optimal performance.
- A track record of developing and maintaining scalable and fail-safe systems on cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure or AWS.
- Proven ability in grasping complex business requirements and delivering appropriately designed technical solutions.
- Experience in a DevOps context, using tools like Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
- Skills in managing both structured and semi-structured data configurations, such as JSON/XML, and in the normalization of datasets.
