Medical Record Coordinator

Description: We are seeking a Medical Record Coordinator and Abstractor. This role involves processing and abstracting medical records to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:

• Request and review medical records for cases of suspected or identified birth defects.

• Verify case information, cross-reference multiple sources, and perform accurate data entry into the iCMS database.

• Ensure data accuracy by reviewing entries from non-clinical staff and providing feedback for improvement.

• Submit referrals to social services when appropriate.

• Collaborate with team members and maintain partnerships with facility HIM staff.

• Maintain HIPAA compliance and complete assignments independently.

Qualifications:

• Experience in medical record processing, data abstraction, and healthcare data management.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Knowledge of HIPAA and experience with healthcare databases.
