Manager MUST HAVES:
1) Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree accepted
2) 6-7 years of Finance experience highly preferred
3) Power BI experience preferred
4) Pharma/Biotech industry experience required
5) SAP experience is a plus
6) CPA and/or MBA is a plus
PURPOSE:
The Manager of Financial & Strategic Planning role is to lead the development of the organization's financial and strategic plans and ensure alignment with overall business objectives. This includes developing and implementing financial planning and analysis processes to support decision-making across the organization, providing strategic financial guidance to senior leadership and stakeholders, particularly in the more complex areas of the business, and conducting financial analysis and modeling to support strategic planning and business decisions.
A Manager of Financial & Strategic Planning provides valuable insights into financial performance and trends, which can help senior leadership make strategic decisions that align with the organization's goals. RELATIONSHIP:
This role will serve as a business partner working directly with leaders in the business to plan and maximize their resources in order to achieve their corporate goals. Interacts closely with the local Accounting team and with Finance colleagues in Denmark and India.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Financial Planning
o Lead the financial planning and forecasting processes to support strategic planning and business decisions for multiple functions of the business
o Work closely with department heads, Finance leadership and Human Resources to drive enterprise level financial, headcount and strategic planning
o Continuously identify and communicate all risks and opportunities against the existing forecast and work with budget owners to manage their spend versus targets and plans
o Develop annual budgets and mid-year forecasts, including management presentations and corporate leadership reviews
o Support other miscellaneous planning projects and ad hoc analysis as applicable
- Financial Analysis and Reporting
o Provide insights into financial performance and trends to senior leadership within the business
o Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards to monitor key metrics and KPIs
o Build and present month-end management reporting to senior Finance and business leaders anticipate new reporting needs based on business requirements
o Highlight key insights or trends that require attention and engage with budget owners on the best path forward
- Ongoing Support:
o Support continuous improvement within finance to streamline processes and reporting, driving value and adding insights to the business
o Provide indirect leadership and coaching to the more junior staff on the Finance team
o Treated as an expert and owner of various specialist tasks of higher complexity
o Support day-to-day purchase requisition reviews/approvals
o Assist accounting during month-end close with accruals and variance analysis
o Support capital review and approval process
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business or equivalent with 6-7 years of relevant experience or Master s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience required.
MBA or CPA strongly preferred
Specific or technical job skills:
Life sciences (Pharma/Biotech) industry experience strongly preferred
Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across organizations and utilize resources effectively
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; highly proficient in Excel based modeling
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Experience with financial planning and reporting systems, ERP systems and data visualization tools
Managerial experience (if applicable): Managerial experience not required
