Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree. Five years of experience in the repair, troubleshooting, testing, installation and maintenance of voice, data, and wireless communication equipment is required. A high school diploma or GED along with additional experience in the repair, troubleshooting, testing, installation and maintenance of voice, data, and wireless communication equipment may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a valid driver license.

Recruitment Notes: IT Sr. Telecom Technician will perform repairs and maintenance on telecommunications equipment including, but not limited to: Desktop and laptop computers, Tablets, Laser printers, desktop printers, smartphones, external mass storage devices, Local Area Network troubleshooting, analog and digital modems, layer 2 switches, in-house plant cabling, and Wi-Fi devices. The Sr. Telecom Tech will also use test equipment such as a Fluke LAN/WAN meter, Tone tracer, VOIP, and data recovery software. The IT Sr. Telecom Tech performs security patches on the maintained images and provides guidance and supervision to Telecom Techs.

Experience in the following is preferred:

  • Microsoft software, the entire suite to Windows 10
  • Testing equipment for diagnostic testing and troubleshooting
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting Ethernet connectivity issues
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting in-house plant cabling such as copper and fiber
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting Wide Area Network connections issues
  • TCP/IP protocol
  • EIA/TIA 568 cable standards
  • Microsoft Active Directory structure
  • Interpreting schematics, blueprints, and floor plans
  • Performing rapid restoration of laptop and desktop computers through imaging
  • Providing guidance and supervision to Telecom Techs assigned to their team
  • Project planning and implementation
  • VOIP Systems and their Network Protocols
  • Cable TV systems
