This position supports the DOE Office of EERE in the full life cycle of project management activities from Funding Opportunity Announcements, award negotiation, active project management, and project closeout. Support involves day-to-day interactions with internal parties such as legal, contracting, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and communications, and external communication with project recipients in academia, nonprofits, for-profit businesses, and National Laboratories. Projects supported range from earlier stage research & development through deployment projects of commercial technologies.

The position will directly support one of EERE s technical program offices, such as Bioenergy, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Wind Energy, Water Power, Geothermal, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization, State and Community Energy, or the Office of Indian Energy. Position requirements include:

  • Provide project management, performance monitoring, documentation, and progress assessment for DOE funded projects.
  • Support the development, coordination, and management of competitive solicitations and merit reviews.
  • Engage with DOE stakeholders on an appropriate level to ensure needs and gaps are being addressed where possible at the Federal level.
  • Assist in the development of internal briefing materials for decision makers and contribute technical review of external communications.
  • Successfully represent the program status to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering, Physical Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Project Management Experience (PMP preferred).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
  • Successful drug screening
  • Muse be able to work onsite with a hybrid work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge or experience in renewable energy or energy efficiency technologies.
  • Ability to actively track and monitor government-funded research and development projects.
  • Experience working within DOE EERE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, an ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
  • Ability to balance multiple long and short-term projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • This position is Hybrid located in Washington D.C.

Starting compensation for this role typically salary ranges between $75,000 and $110,000 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
