  • Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), a Las Vegas, NV based IT consulting firm, is seeking a Microsoft 365 Security Engineer to join our team.

    SUMMARY

    We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft 365 (M365) Security Engineer to lead the assessment, enhancement, and implementation of M365 security measures within our client's organizations. This role will focus on evaluating our current M365 security posture, providing strategic recommendations, and implementing advanced security controls to safeguard our client's digital environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of M365 security capabilities and best practices, demonstrating the ability to mature and optimize security posture in alignment with organizational goals.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • 5-7+ years of experience in IT security as a Microsoft Security Engineer or similar role, with specific expertise in Microsoft 365 security technologies and tools.
    • Deep understanding of M365 security components such as Azure AD, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Cloud App Security, and Intune.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft security technologies and tools, including Purview Information Protection, DLP, data lifecycle management, records management, and Azure data governance
    • Experience in implementing security controls for Identity and Access Management, Conditional Access, Threat Protection, and Data Loss Prevention within M365.
    • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals; Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate; or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex security needs and provide tailored solutions.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to mitigating security risks.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills for clear, concise reporting and effective user training.
    PREFERRED SKILLS

    • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting in M365.
    • Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
    • Knowledge of zero-trust principles and their application within M365 environments.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct thorough assessments of the organization's existing M365 security posture to identify gaps, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
    • Develop a security roadmap with recommendations and phased plans to enhance the M365 environment's overall security posture.
    • Design and implement security controls within the M365 suite, including Purview Information Protection, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Conditional Access, Threat Protection, Information Protection, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
    • Configure and optimize M365 security tools, such as Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Azure AD, Microsoft Cloud App Security, and Intune, to improve threat detection and response.
    • Ensure the security, compliance, and governance of M365 services by implementing and enforcing appropriate policies, controls, and monitoring mechanisms
    • Provide expertise in integrating M365 with other systems, such as identity and access management solutions, third-party applications, and data sources
    • Collaborate with IT teams to develop and maintain automation scripts, workflows, and integrations to streamline administrative tasks and enhance user experience
    • Provide expertise and guidance on best practices for securing M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and others.
    • Educate end-users on security awareness and safe practices within the M365 environment.
