Position Summary:
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (SBIA) is responsible for developing complex projects using T-SQL language with tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). The SBIA will work collaboratively with business units to understand reporting needs, ensuring the delivery of meaningful insights that align with our mission of promoting healthier communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy reports and visual representations, including self-service dashboards, using tools like SSRS, Power BI, Excel, and Sharepoint.
- Manage the reporting development life cycle, including gathering requirements, designing, developing, testing, and implementing solutions.
- Create complex T-SQL queries for data extraction and develop a high volume of SSRS reports, both ad-hoc and scheduled, using SSIS packages.
- Design and implement reports using SQL Server and Excel to meet business needs.
- Develop reports that support a variety of business requirements, including pivot tables in Excel and matrix reports in SSRS.
- Identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, implement fixes, and develop exception reporting to improve data integrity.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand unique reporting needs, providing data analysis and insights as required.
- Establish and maintain best practices for data visualization and report standardization.
- Provide management with project status updates and feedback on assigned responsibilities.
- Conduct quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and performance of reports.
- Stay updated on current industry trends and technologies through continuous learning and training.

- Strong understanding of reporting best practices, including defining, developing, and delivering data to support business decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with business units and stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of the healthcare business and ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights for end users.
- Highly organized, results-oriented team player with time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of clinical and financial systems within a healthcare environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with coding standards, peer code review processes, and project management methodologies.
- Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or Business Administration preferred, OR a minimum of 7 years of relevant analyst work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server technologies, Visual Studio Data Tools, relational databases, and complex T-SQL programming.
- At least 5 years of experience as a dedicated Report Developer or Reporting Analyst (Microsoft SSRS).
- Experience with ETL processes (Microsoft SSIS preferred).
- Knowledge of OLAP/Tabular Models (Microsoft SSAS preferred).
- Familiarity with dashboard development tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Pyramid Analytics (preferred).
- Microsoft certifications (preferred).
- EPIC certifications in Tapestry Modules (preferred).
