Title- Software Architect Portfolio Modernization
Location- USA (Remote)

Role:
This role will focus on bringing the company up to date with modern technologies, improving security standards, and enabling faster development cycles to support future growth and agility. Must have solid understanding of the following:
C# and .Net, Framework and Core
JavaScript/jQuery/Libraries (React, Angular, etc)
T-SQL Queries / Intermediate on Stored Procedures
Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough analysis of the current application portfolio, including systems built with .NET, C#, SQL, Oracle, and React.
Reverse engineer existing applications to identify architectural patterns, dependencies, and technical debt.
Document "as-is" architecture using industry-standard frameworks and tools.
Design a future-state architecture roadmap aligned with the company's goals for modernization, security, and speed of development.
Develop a multi-phased approach for migrating or refactoring existing applications, focusing on modern architectures like microservices, event-driven design, and cloud-native strategies.
Recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to accelerate development while ensuring maintainability, scalability, and security.
Stay current with industry trends to identify and recommend best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, and business leaders, to ensure alignment on architecture goals.
Present findings and progress to executive stakeholders, providing technical insight into proposed changes and recommending priorities for the evolution from current state to future state.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven track record of developing and documenting current and future-state architectures.
Deep understanding of software design patterns, principles, and modern architectures, including microservices and event-driven design.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with security frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, GDPR, SOC 2)
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, and Kubernetes
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Education and Experience:
Bachelor/Master degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in software architecture, with a focus on modernization and application portfolio management.
