Job Summary
The Security Architect will design and oversee implementation of secure information technology architectures under direct supervision. Helps to identify and define the organizations cyber security requirements and also researches, plans, designs and evaluates security architectures in accordance with organizations needs. The role will also handle basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher level staff.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develops or recommends modifications to application development, database design, networking, or infrastructure architecture with the goal of complying with internal information security policies and standards.

  • Monitors emerging products, technologies or best practices that will improve security for the organization and its stakeholders.
  • Works as a team member on problems of moderate scope, complexity or diversity.
  • Assists senior team members in the development of security policies, standards, and strategies.
  • Participates in security audits, identifies security gaps, and develops and implements risk mitigation solutions.
  • Designs and develops the organizations overall information security architecture to protect its information assets.
  • May incorporate vendor solutions as part of the overall information security systems architecture.
  • Performs as the subject matter expert in relation to network, data, application and or cloud security and liaises with other areas of IT in the dissemination of this information to counter threats and internal and external vulnerabilities.
  • Responsibilities include advanced researching and identifying information security products, services, and trends, testing security configurations, and developing configuration architectures.

External Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of experience in enterprise information security architectures and solutions OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in enterprise information security architectures and solutions.
  • Experience researching and identifying information security products, services, and trends.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with vendors.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing and organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP or CISA Certification.
