More recently, ROC s product portfolio has grown to include full-stack, end-user systems that leverage the algorithms contained in the ROC SDK. We license our software in support of a wide range of applications including financial services, law enforcement, military, and consumer electronics.Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the CIO oversees the planning, implementation, and management of all aspects of IT security, data security, and digital transformation efforts, ensuring both the company s IT infrastructure and products supports both current and future needs. The CIO will work closely with other senior leadership (technical and otherwise) and assist with managing vendor and customer relationships to support high-quality, scalable software solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership, operational expertise, and strong business acumen to drive a forward-looking, secure, and agile IT environments and products.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop and implement an internal technology roadmap aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, security, and customer-driven innovation.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT security strategy aligned with the company s business goals and objectives.

  • Ensure robust cybersecurity practices, compliance with regulatory requirements, and protect sensitive company and client data via areas including but not limited to Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), Mobile Device Management (MDM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Managed Detection and Response (MDR)

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, CMMC, FedRAMP, etc.).

  • Lead company-wide digital transformation efforts, driving adoption of new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

  • Direct and oversee the IT department, including infrastructure, application development, cybersecurity, data management, and technical support teams.

  • Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments, optimizing resource allocation, and evaluating the ROI of IT projects.

  • Oversee relationships with external technology partners, negotiating contracts, managing vendor performance, and ensuring alignment with company goals.

  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

  • Partner with other C-suite leaders to support strategic initiatives, identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements, and ensure seamless execution of company goals.

  • Communicate IT strategies and performance updates to key stakeholders, including executive leadership and the board of directors, ensuring alignment on goals and transparency on progress.

  • Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Manage security audits and coordinate responses to security incidents.

  • Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees.

  • Promote a culture of security awareness and proactive risk management across the organization.

  • Lead the response to security incidents, including forensic investigations and root cause analysis.

  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and business continuity strategies.

Required Skills and Experiences:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO/IEC 27001).

  • Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.

  • Proven track record of managing security incidents and implementing effective security solutions.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Extensive knowledge with cloud provider infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google)

Other Relevant Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Ability to obtain / maintain a security clearance
