Oracle Business Systems Analyst Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid)

Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst with Oracle ERP is responsible for developing and implementing systems solutions to support business functions, requiring a deep understanding of computer systems, applications, and interfaces. This role involves data gathering, problem-solving, and system design for client issues of medium complexity. The Analyst will create detailed specifications, system documentation, and process flows and support change management initiatives. With an intermediate understanding of business operations, the Analyst collaborates effectively with clients and colleagues, manages multiple projects, and provides mentorship to team members while working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize analytical skills to define system requirements and objectives for application maintenance or enhancements, translating client needs into actionable items for developers.
- Determine data conversion requirements for existing applications and document the need for application changes or replacements.
- Draft project scope plans, monitor and report project status, and manage the implementation of change plans.
- Provide technical expertise on application functionality and optimization, and offer system administration support as agreed.
- Develop and validate test plans to ensure system integrity, capturing both successful and failed outcomes.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, data flows, and process flows.
- Educate team members on business requirements, system applications, and processes.
- Participate in the system selection process, including needs assessment, RFP creation, and vendor selection.
- Support compliance with all information security policies, procedures, and standards related to the handling of patient, financial, and confidential information.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in a business systems role within healthcare, with 1-3 years of Information Systems Analyst experience preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in ERP systems (Oracle, Infor, SAP, WorkDay, Salesforce), especially in report writing and security. Familiarity with the Oracle Fusion ERP platform is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) and project development lifecycle preferred. Experience with web-based technologies, software quality assurance, and industry best practices for testing is beneficial.
- Healthcare experience is required.
Desired Knowledge & Abilities
- Understanding of staff scheduling, time and attendance (Kronos), HR, payroll, and labor analytics is advantageous.
- Ability to apply software quality assurance concepts and industry standards effectively.
