Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Accounting Manager to work for our Tampa client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting operations for construction projects, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and payroll.
  • Manage WIP accounting processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of project progress and financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management procedures specific to construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review financial performance, project costs, and projections.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyzing variances and trends for informed decision-making.
  • Monitor internal controls and implement improvements to streamline accounting procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction industry accounting.
  • Proven expertise with WIP (Work in Progress) accounting and project cost analysis.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes for construction projects.
  • Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint) and ERP systems.
