If selected for this position you will serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist, and your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform all supervisory functions over federal employees (approve leave, conduct performance reviews, monitor and redistribute work, train and coach staff, etc.).
- Provide recommendations to NIH managers and supervisors in assigned servicing areas on matters involving a broad range of complex, sensitive, and/or controversial Human Resources issues.
- Propose and develop new or revised external policies, practices, or programs to deal with various recruitment issues.
- Research, define, and document best practices regarding external recruitment techniques in both the Federal and private sectors.
- Participate in management meetings to discuss organizational changes, turnover, changes in skills requirements, position allocations/ authorizations, and other issues impacting recruitment programs.
- Provide expert advice on major organizational planning issues, such as the expected impact of reductions in work force, reorganizations, or other mass changes or situations involving a broad perspective on complex, interrelated actions.
