Plans, Formulates, and Implements National Policy and Programming: Assist with the development and sustainability of the forensic healthcare program to enhance the capacity of the Indian health system to provide high-quality multidisciplinary services and support for patients presenting for forensic healthcare and related services in collaboration with and as delegated by the Forensic Nurse Consultant. Provide recommendations to supervisors and senior leaders on forensic healthcare, projects, services, issues and trends. Serve as a coordinator for sexual assault policy implementation and monitoring.
Evaluates and Analyzes Program Effectiveness: Analyze existing or proposed systems, strategies, services, or other health related matters for forensic healthcare in conjunction with the Forensic Nurse Consultant. Research and analyze product problems caused by controversial, complex & often conflicting factors. Monitor trends and state-of-the-art clinical guidelines, strategies, research and other outcomes related to medical forensic healthcare prevention, intervention, and treatment. Review congressional and legislative action; assess and initiate impact and action on forensic healthcare accordingly.
Develops Networks and Partnerships: Provide leadership to promote and build collaboration with tribes, tribal organizations, Federal agencies and others to align resources to support DNS forensic healthcare program efforts. Represent the Agency at meetings and on national committees, task forces, and workgroups as assigned. Call and host meetings and teleconferences, arrange for guest speakers, foster leadership by others, and take appropriate actions to enable the establishment and growth of effective networks and partnerships.
