As a Supervisory Hydrologist (Branch Chief for Data) within the New Mexico Water Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Serves as a member of the NMWSC (New Mexico Water Science Center) Senior Management Team and principal advisor to the NMWSC Center Director concerning the collection, analysis, quality assurance, and publication of hydrologic data.
- Exercises a broad range of supervisory responsibilities through subordinate supervisors; oversees employee career development, performance evaluations, and makesdecisions on promotions, training, and awards.
- Manages and directs all NMWSC Hydrologic Data activities, a program consisting of approximately 45 employees with a budget of more than $5 million annually.
- Develops, plans, and administers the operations and activities of the NMWSC Data Program with over 30 reimbursable cooperators from State and local governments, Tribes, and Other Federal agencies.
- Develops and secures reimbursable funds to sustain and grow the financial stability of the NMWSC Hydrologic Data program; uses the Center's Cooperative Matching Funds to negotiate over 30 reimbursable agreements annually with external partners.
- Advises Water Resources Mission Area on the prioritization of New Mexico's Federal Priority Stream-gages.
- Operates a government owned/leased vehicle as an incidental driver.
