As a/an Credit Risk Officer (Single Family), you will:
- Represent FHA during briefings and negotiations within the Department, as well as with Congress, officials in other Federal agencies, private industry, and or interest groups.
- Direct the execution of the SF Credit Risk team's mandate, independently or through coordination a team of other subject matter experts. If serving as a team leader, will be responsible for assigning segments of study to various participants, coordinating the efforts of the team, and consolidating findings. Final products will include completed project reports, recommended courses of action, proposed policy/procedure change, and other relevant types of analysis.
- Guide the development of credit risk policies for the SF program, prepare options for credit risk limits for the SF program (e.g., assess the impact of possible SF credit risk limits on underwriting standards); periodically assess the prudence of re-setting SF premiums; support SF program staff's preparation of options for refining underwriting standards (e.g., assess the relative impact of loosening underwriting standards on mortgage volumes and quality); support SF program staff's preparation of options for servicing asset management policy (e.g., gather knowledge on industry best practices in loss mitigation); prepare policy options for assuring quality of lender and servicer activities (including but not limited to approaches to loan-level reviews, compliance audits, approval and recertification, and management of counterparty risk).
- Monitor SF credit risk exposure and coordinate effective response - develop options and counsel DAS-RMRA, ADAS-RM, and DIR-RM on the appropriate way to structure the Single Family-credit risk section of FHA's risk heat-map; monitor the SF program's exposure to credit risk against this framework, on an ongoing basis; identify imminent breaches of risk limits set for the SF program, and propose appropriate mitigation responses.
