Preferred Risk Insurance Services is seeking a bright and highly motivated Business Analyst to join our team. The Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for developing test scripts, testing, and qualifying software for various products and releases on different platforms. This individual is responsible for ensuring that software functionality meets or exceeds requirements, with the highest quality from the companies' perception. The Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Analyst will work on a team of analysts to learn our business and full life-cycle analysis, using testing tools and quality practices to deliver end-to-end customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn the functionality of the insurance administration system being implemented and serve as a functional expert to help the business identify the best ways to use the system.
- Work with the business subject matter experts to define business requirements and document them using the defined process.
- Work with the business subject matter experts to define requirements for forms and map the data contained in the form.
- Work with outside vendors to define requirements for integrations and map the data required for the request and response to that vendor.
- Assist in triage of issues coming from production or testing.
- Write and execute test cases for functional testing using the standardized process and tools.
- Work closely with developers, product owners, vendors and business SMEs to define effective solutions in the system being implemented; design test cases to ensure solutions are working as expected.
- Support the business in conducting User Acceptance Testing.
- Perform peer review on work products produced by other business analysts.
- Make recommendations on acceptable risks in the application.
- Track and provide Status and Metric Reports as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Insurance Industry experience (Underwriting, Claims and other areas considered) or two years of experience as a Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Analyst
- Bachelor's Degree - Business and IT Majors
- Ability to use standard project tools including Microsoft Office, Jira and SharePoint
- Ability to proactively communicate and escalate issues
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple releases and priorities being worked at the same time
