Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision from the Health Information Manager, the Healthcare Data Analyst will significantly contribute to the organization's healthcare quality and risk management initiatives. This role emphasizes the importance of data accuracy and actionable insights to enhance clinical operations, patient outcomes, and overall organizational efficiency. Candidates must possess robust analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems, especially in data visualization and electronic health records (EHR).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Utilize statistical methodologies to interpret complex datasets, conducting comprehensive analyses of data from Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and other healthcare information systems to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize reports and dashboards to monitor and evaluate performance and quality metrics within the healthcare setting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to gather business requirements, providing analytical support to enhance organizational effectiveness and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Oversee the accuracy and completeness of data collected from surveys and evaluations, ensuring data integrity throughout the process.
- Manage system updates and address technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions to data reporting and analytics functions.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on data utilization, reporting best practices, and the effective use of dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes to standardize reporting practices across the organization, promoting consistency and reliability in data analysis.
- Support Northern Valley Indian Health (NVIH) in reporting needs and enhance clinic workflow through the integration of eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Lead the evaluation, analysis, and implementation of new processes and systems aimed at improving data reporting capabilities.
- Participate in the planning and execution of the overall business systems roadmap, aligning data initiatives with organizational goals.
- Provide technical support and document resolutions in a user-facing helpdesk knowledgebase to improve the user experience and facilitate self-service.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analyses using various analytic tools to address specific project or departmental needs
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in healthcare data analysis or related fields.
- eCW experience preferred
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools
- Knowledge of Metrics: Familiarity with healthcare quality metrics and key performance indicators (e.g., UDS, HEDIS, GPRA) and EHR systems.
- Collaborate effectively with IT teams to resolve technical challenges, maintaining seamless operational flow.
- Employ strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail to facilitate precise data management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to adjust communication style from executive level, clinical and to the laymen as well as ability to engage in public speaking and group training.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm as an innovative team player.
- Ability to think critically and provide relevant, realistic solutions to complex business problems.
- Analytical Skills: Strong capabilities for statistical analysis and dataset management.
- Interpersonal and Organizational Skills: Critical for effective collaboration and managing multiple priorities.
- Reliable Transportation and ability to adhere to regular attendance.

RETIREMENT PLAN:
Employees are eligible to participate after 60 days of employment. After one (1) year of employment NVIH will match up to 4%.
