Skills
- 5+ years of experience drafting machined, casted, sheet metal, and/or plastic molded components.
- Expertise in utilizing SolidWorks for modeling complex 3D systems and drafting components.
- Strong understanding of GD&T as per ASME Y14.5.
- Experience in generating and managing BOM structures, ECRs, and documentation through a QMS.
- Experience with mechanical design for medical devices (nice to have).
- Experience with cable drawings (nice to have).
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to capture design outputs for a novel medical device.
- Develop and manage documentation including CAD models, fabrication drawings, procedures, BOMs, and specifications.
- Build and manage an accurate 3D CAD model of a novel and complex medical device.
- Generate and manage fabrication drawings for all elements of the medical device.
- Generate and manage specification documents.
- Generate and manage BOMs.
- Manage all documents accurately in a QMS.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical drafting.
- Proficient in SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with GD&T and document management systems.
Education Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is preferred but not specified.
Education Requirements Credential Category
- Relevant degree in engineering or design preferred (specific degree not required).
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical drafting and design for manufacturing.
- Proven experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
