The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is the Nation's risk advisor, working with partners to defend against today's threats and collaborating with industry to build a more secure and resilient infrastructure for the future.

The Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans (SPP) serves as the principal policy and strategic advisor to Agency leadership, integrating strategy, policy, plans, governance, and operational consistency throughout CISA.

Typical work assignments include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing needs analysis to determine opportunities for new and improved business process solutions.
  • Serving as an expert consultant and evaluator for functional teams, overseeing them in anticipating, identifying, evaluating, mitigating and minimizing risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
  • Planning developing and coordinating CISA policy and implements improvements.
  • Providing guidance to customers about applicability of systems to meet business needs and analysis.
  • Reviewing proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks.
  • Providing advice and direction in resolving complex technical issues as they arise.
  • Planning and directing the work to be accomplished by subordinate.
  • Evaluating work performance of subordinates and assuring reasonable equity of performance standards and rating techniques.
