As a Economist, GS-0110-14/15, your typical work assignments may include:
- Conducting independent economic research in support of OSAI analysis projects such as potential economic costs, benefits, and risk reduction outcomes associated with applicant products or services, applying quantitative models to assess how each application might impact national security and private sector risk management.
- Finding new data sources made available by OCHCO, DHS authoritative databases; federal, state, and local governments; and professional economic societies, universities and other otherwise untapped sources.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to refine policies that optimize costs and benefits for both private and public sectors under the SAFETY Act.
- Engages with stakeholders such as insurance companies, technology providers, and legal experts to discuss and refine liability
assessments and insurance requirements under the SAFETY Act.
