This position is located in FinCEN's Office of the Director. As a Legislative Advisor, you will:
- Be responsible for fostering a positive working relationship between FinCEN and Congress through productive relationships with key member offices including the Senate Banking Committee and House Financial Services Committee.
- Serve as the principal advisor to the Director and agency leadership on matters pertaining to congressional affairs and state legislative issues.
- Prepare briefing materials for the FinCEN Director and senior management prior to Congressional engagements.
- Manage all incoming and outgoing Congressional correspondence at all stages, ensuring that it is handled in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Prepare transcripts and issue summaries of key legislative matters affecting the agency.
- Be responsible for the drafting, coordination and clearance of written and oral testimony of agency officials before Congress.
- Provide advice and recommendations regarding FinCEN position on pending legislative proposals and on formulating strategies for dealing with such proposals. This includes facilitating the legislative proposal process for the bureau, including internal, Departmental, and Office of Management and Budget reviews and clearances, as appropriate.
