As a Supervisory Program Manager, you will:
- Administer transportation planning activities through planning, engineering, or feasibility studies and reports on feasibility of proposed construction or for the evaluation of engineering condition, alternative transportation, and intelligent transportation system needs for planning and programming of future projects or at the request of the partner agency.
- Coordinate projects with State and local planning organizations. Participate with partner agencies in the preparation of annual, multi-year, and long-range programs for the planning, design, and construction of transportation system projects.
- Provide overall liaison, coordination and administration of the design and construction program, the Federal Lands, and Tribal Transportation Program and various highway programmed projects from the initial planning stage through completion. Provide overall administration and delivery of the Emergency Relief for Federally owned Roads Program to provide emergency funds for repair or reconstruction of roads and bridges that have sustained damage by natural disasters.
- Set overall direction for the stewardship and oversight program, including recommending office philosophy and policy to the director. Has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of a risk-based stewardship and oversight program of partner delivered Title 23-funded programs and projects.
- Serve as a member of the Division Leadership Team for national and divisional strategic planning and direction for Division-wide goals and needs in alignment with the USDOT and FHWA. Fosters a business-focus team environment within the Branch and monitors team performance through measurement of division and branch team accomplishments.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience providing leadership to a major organizational unit as well as experience that includes responsibility for the accomplishments of an organizational team or unit. Knowledge of transportation program development, infrastructure planning, and construction is highly desirable. Ideally, the applicant will have experience in the development of a business plan and/or the accomplishment of the business measures.
