  • You will supervise FWS inspection programs with direct responsibility for supervising nonsupervisory inspectors of electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical systems and breaker assemblies on nuclear ships, submarines and repair facilities.
  • You will be responsible for all the electronic and electrical systems inspection operations of Non-Nuclear Inspection Branches of a Department of the Navy shipyard and those of a fleet electrical breaker repair facility.
  • You will be responsible for the personnel safety, efficiency, and overall quality and quantity of the inspection work performed by subordinate nonsupervisory inspectors.
  • You will lead, mentor, and train subordinate inspectors in a positive and professional manner, leading by example with a proactive attitude using collaborative skills and promoting diversity.
  • You will explain technical subjects and be familiar with electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical systems and various electrical breaker repair assemblies associated with naval nuclear vessels.
  • You will assure that personnel are sufficiently trained in the processes and associated requirements of non-nuclear quality control to certify that program and NAVSEA specifications and requirements are adhered to.
  • You will assign individual workers to particular work or tasks within the unit's assignments.
  • You will define quality standards and oversee work while in progress, or on completion.
  • You will modify plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish the work as effectively as possible to meet inspection and system requirements, established cost and schedule adherence.
  • You will carry out EEO policies and communicate support of these policies to subordinates, assuring equality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline, and awards to incumbents.
  • You will perform of electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical processes, product and test inspections on assigned ships systems and electrical equipment and breaker component overhaul work.
  • You will initiate a rejection of workmanship, components, materials and procedures used on jobs that do not meet specifications and requirements.
  • You will coordinate work with other inspection supervisors to ensure consistent inspection effort and efficient utilization of manpower.
  • You will maintain records for inspections performed results, and corrective action taken.
  • You will initiate action to ensure inspection facilities, tooling and equipment are adequate and properly maintained.
  • You will provide inspection services for non-ship electrical inspection work.
  • You will ensure financial parameters for all work under assigned cognizance are met, or, when in jeopardy, communicated early with the project involved and Branch Head.
  • You will support and explain management programs, recommend performance ratings and training along with counseling to workers on how to improve performance to subordinates.
