The RN in Employee Occupational Health (EOH) plays a critical role in supporting the health and well-being of employees within the facility and associated community-based clinics. This position reports directly to the Service Chief of Administrative Medicine and collaborates closely with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner for clinical guidance and program oversight. This position requires a dedicated individual with strong organizational skills, a commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments. The RN in EOH is integral to maintaining a healthy workforce and ensuring compliance with health regulations and standards.

Included but not limited to:

  • Collaboration and Administration:
    • Work alongside EOH provider(s) and allied staff to cover all VAMC facilities and community-based clinics (CBOC).
    • Administer the Flu Prevention Program, including vaccine administration and documentation in employee records.
    • Track and ensure compliance with vaccination programs.
  • Confidentiality and Record Maintenance:
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee health information.
    • Manage and update employee medical records and immunization records.
  • Employee Health Services:
    • Triage employees as they present for EOH related issues, provide guidance and support for illness and/or injury.
    • Oversee Occupational Health Surveillance Programs, to include: Hazardous Drug/Respirator FIT, TB screenings, and surveillance.
    • Administer vaccinations for employees including Influenza, COVID-19, Hepatitis B, and Td for work-related injuries.
  • Program Support and Coordination:
    • Support the Disaster Emergency Medical Personnel System (DEMPS) program and other specialty exams (e.g., boiler plant, police, DOT, and incidental driver).
    • Conduct COVID-19 testing and provide guidance for return-to-work and work-related contact tracing.
    • Review and assess employee health records from internal and external sources.
    • Assist with the coordination of medical clearance for newly hired employees prior to transfer.
  • Employee Wellness and Communication:
    • Lead employee wellness initiatives and maintain the Employee Wellness SharePoint site.
    • Serve as Chair for the Employee Wellness Committee and Point of Contact for Employee Whole Health initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Actively participate as a member of the EOH team, collaborating with facility-wide departments to enhance employee health programs and initiatives.

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift/day; 7:00am-3:30pm or 7:30am-4:00pm

Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
