  • Creates software and tools applicable to the Human Systems Integration core competency, covering the spectrum of research, design, and development phases, as well as the project implementation and operation phases of NASA missions.
  • Ensures proper software integration for systems with multiple, disparate data sources and develops software architectures and/or tools that improve data analysis, processing, and throughput for increased science return for NASA missions.
  • Leads/conducts basic and applied research and software/technology development that support a broad range of aerospace projects (e.g., airborne science, aircraft, spacecraft, or robotic operations).
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the computer science discipline, writing proposals, analyzing and defining requirements, conducting technical evaluations, and making recommendations to management within the functional areas of expertise.
  • Serves as team lead and senior software development lead, project manager, principal investigator, deployment lead, and/or laboratory manager providing high-level technical leadership.
  • Conducts special studies for NASA Programs/Projects and its partners.
  • Performs multiple functions which may include: planning, design, test and evaluation, cost analyses, program and project management, quality management for projects.
