This position will allow you to use your expertise in implementing Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorist (CTPAT) policies, and analyzing and resolving difficult security problems affecting international commerce. Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.
Typical duties include:
- Identifying deficiencies, develops a corrective action plan, and works in partnership with the CTPAT Partners to implement corrections
- Conducting vetting research using CBP automated database systems, open-source material, and information requests, in order to assess the background and legitimacy of commercial business organizations and individuals
- Providing guidance to CTPAT Partners to meet CTPAT minimum security criteria by working with them to develop security measures commensurate to their business model and size
- Assisting in resolving conflicts between CTPAT Partners and Ports of Entry relative to the CTPAT program and notifies the appropriate office of issues not directly related to security issues
- Maintaining operational and situational awareness of current and emerging security and trade threats by monitoring various information sources, such as CBP automated databases, open-source reporting, and actionable intelligence
