This role includes hands-on development, configuration, installation, and lifecycle support for communication systems, ensuring compliance with COMSEC policies and project management requirements. Responsibilities also include system integration, testing, and documentation.

Role Overview
The Telecommunications Specialist-FE will provide critical technical expertise to maintain and support innovative hardware, software, and network systems and applications. This role includes hands-on development, configuration, installation, and lifecycle support for communication systems, ensuring compliance with COMSEC policies and project management requirements. Responsibilities also include system integration, testing, and documentation.
Primary Duties
- Maintain awareness of technical equipment and apply the Sponsor’s project management model for development and installation efforts.
- Provide build, testing, analysis, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support for hardware, software, and network systems.
- Procure equipment or components to support communication system build-outs.
- Uncrate, set up, and build out new equipment.
- Configure and customize hardware and software packages.
- Conduct system integration, testing, and preparation of customer system documentation.
- Create drawings of rack elevations, train onsite customer personnel, and perform system verification.
- Ensure compliance with COMSEC policies and procedures.
- Provide Tier 3 support for technical systems.
- Pack-out and ship completed systems.
- Clearance TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field (equivalent experience may be substituted for education).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in telecommunications or a related field.
- Strong background in Microsoft Systems Engineering and support.
- Recent experience with Windows platform operating systems and Microsoft applications, including Windows 10 and Server 2012/2016 suite.
- Knowledge of virtualization products, especially Hyper-V.
- Understanding of TCP/IP routing and secure scripts.
- Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining network multi-layer switches, routers, firewalls, workstations, satellites, and secure communications systems.
- Familiarity with fiber optics and Ethernet cable installation and termination.
- Experience with McAfee product suite.
- Proven ability to independently develop approaches to solutions and lead in multi-contractor, on-site, and virtual environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in OCONUS environments.
- Experience performing site surveys for system installations, infrastructure, and power requirements.
- Experience providing technical training to foreign and domestic audiences.
- Certifications MCSE and/or CCIE.
- Working knowledge of VMware and ESXi.
- Previous experience with NetApp storage devices.
- Familiarity with CSFC technologies and methodologies.
- Knowledge of SCCM and secure remote mobile computing.
- Current experience in the Sponsor’s distributed work environment architectures and systems.
- MCSE and/or CCIE certifications preferred.
- Up to 10% CONUS travel as required.
- OCONUS travel is not required, but there may be opportunities for 1-2 short-duration trips annually if desired.
